Hiring part-time staff in Singapore costs a median of SGD 13 an hour on Quest, and most shifts land between SGD 10 and SGD 20 an hour. That number comes from 1,231 real part-time jobs posted across Singapore in the last six months, where the median total budget per gig was SGD 85.

Part-time work covers a lot of ground, from banquet servers to flyer distributors to weekend sales staff, so the rate you pay depends on the role, the shift length, and how skilled the work is. Here is what the real posting data shows.

What part-time staff actually cost per hour

Across the 873 Singapore part-time posts that listed shift hours, the median rate worked out to SGD 13 an hour. The middle half of jobs paid between SGD 10 and SGD 20 an hour. The typical shift ran about 4 hours, which is why the median total budget per post came in at SGD 85.

That SGD 13 figure lines up with the wider market. Job platform Troopers puts basic part-time roles like waitstaff, cashiers, and retail assistants at SGD 13 to 14 an hour in Singapore, so Quest posts are priced right where casual staff expect to be paid.

How the rate changes by type of work

The headline number hides a real spread. Here is how the median total budget moved by role over the past six months.

Sales roles carried the highest budgets, with a median of SGD 200 per post. Many are commission based or run across multiple shifts, which pulls the number up.

Event staffing sat at a median of SGD 90 per post and drew the most interest, averaging 4.68 offers each.

F&B service roles landed around SGD 80, and packing jobs around SGD 77. Those short shifts are the cheapest way to bring on an extra pair of hands.

You will not wait long for takers

Price is only half the question. The other half is whether anyone shows up, and in Singapore that has not been a problem. Every one of the 1,231 part-time posts drew at least one offer, and the average post pulled in about 4 offers. Event staffing ran hotter, closer to 5 offers per post.

Most people post about three days before the shift, which leaves plenty of room for takers to raise their hand and for you to pick. If you need bodies for the weekend, a Wednesday post is comfortable.

How to price your own part-time post

If you are posting a shift, start from SGD 13 an hour and adjust up for skill, night hours, or a tight turnaround. A standard 4 hour event or F&B shift at SGD 13 to 15 an hour puts you around SGD 55 to 60, which is competitive. Sales and specialist work justify SGD 20 an hour and up.

You can browse live part-time and event listings to see current rates, or post your own part-time shift and let offers come to you.
